Just Because They Suck You… Doesn’t Mean They Like You!

It’s not inconceivable that even before the rise of parody porn, wannabe Hollywood auteur Kevin Smith hoped and dreamed that his debut feature film, Clerks, would strike such a chord with contemporary society that it’d eventually be turned into something even more pornographic than his dialogue. Now, almost twenty years after Clerks’ 1994 release, a Clerks porn parody is available from Vivid Entertainment.

Providing the Clerks slackers with far more sexual opportunities than the original film, Clerks XXX: A Porn Parody sees Allie Haze and Lexi Swallow fill the presumably loosely-tied boots of Dante and Randall as Dana and Randi, who spend their workday embroiled in all sorts of lewd and lascivious (and presumably humorous) situations. Joining Haze and Swallow are Chastity Lynn as Jane and Kelly Devine as Silent Bertha, the gender-bending XXX versions of Jay and Silent Bob. Other performers include Jayden Lee, Seth Gamble, Brian Street Team, and Evan Stone as the most obnoxious series of customers imaginable – yes, every one.

Clerks XXX is now available for viewing at Vivid’s online HQ, but those who want the full “rise of the indies” experience should pick up the DVD release, which includes a non-hardcore black-and-white version. Although with presumably better dialog recordings than Smith’s original. Oh, and Smith has been unusually silent about this highly explicit tribute, perhaps too immersed in his adored and officially endorsed Fleshlight to pay it much mind.

Remembering J. Stephen Hicks

Reports began circulating yesterday of the passing of Digital Desire’s chief photographer, J. Stephen Hicks and were confirmed by Hicks’ business partner and fellow lensman, Jay Allan, who sent AVN a note in tribute to the man he called mentor and friend.

“[Hicks] was a true pioneer in the adult industry,” Allan wrote. “At a time when there were only about a doze photographers worldwide shooting for the adult magazine market, J. Stephen Hicks’ work stood out as exceptional. It still does today.”

Anyone familiar with Hicks’ work for Digital Desire, or his earlier print work for Penthouse, Hustler, Club, Gallery, and High Society magazines, surely recognizes the enormous talent he had. Not content with only seeing his later work online, in 2004 Hicks even published a hardcover Digital Desire book containing nearly 200 pages of his finest work. He followed this release with another hardcover collection, Superbeauty, in 2010. Both the printed and digital versions of Hicks’ photography offer prime examples of what Allan calls “the beautiful natural light and calculated composition that his images always contained.”

“Stephen taught his team to always put 100 percent of their creative energy into every image and video and to try to make everything as artistic and beautiful as possible,” Allan continued. “As a photographer he had no equal and took every step to artistically and creatively make every girl we shot look her absolute best. I am very lucky to have known and learned from the best and I am at least comforted by knowing that his legacy will live on and his amazing body of work will always be here for us to enjoy.”

Digital Desire, which most recently received a thoroughly impressive 91% approval rating from Mr. Pink’s back in July of ’12, will continue to showcase Hicks’ work and legacy, albeit with some new blood taking the photographic reigns, a group Allan calls “an amazing teanm of artists who will carry with his beautiful erotica the way he taught us since we were young.”

Allan’s final words on his departed friend and mentor could easily have come from any one of Hicks’ devoted fans and followers, “I will miss him dearly.”

Eating Out with Dana Vespoli

Only a few weeks after the announcement of her recent addition to Evil Angel’s roster of directorial talent, one of San Francisco’s numerous notable kinksters, Dana Vespoli, announces the release of Lesbian Analingus, her newest directorial effort. Surprisingly, though, this ass-munching, rim-jobbing all-girl sapph-fest is being released not by Evil Angel, but by Sweetheart Video and Mile High Media.

Starring Vespoli herself and a cast of some of porn’s most delectable women – Gracie Glam, Sinn Sage, Charley Chase, Phoenix Marie, Annika Albrite, Sandy B, and Liza Del Sierra – Lesbian Analingus serves up the first dedicated orally inclined ass-play release from Mile High’s award-winning all-lesbian Sweetheart Video. Employing fingers, toys, puckered lips, tongues and plenty of saliva, the scenes see Charley and Gracie, Annika and Sandy, Sinn and Liza, follow Dana and Phoenix’s lead and indulging in tongue lashings their fans both male and female won’t soon forget.

AVN 2013: The Big Winners: The Movies

Some believe the AVN Awards to be almost entirely about celebrating the most brightly shining stars in the porn world, and although that’s partly true, those who disregard the landmark feature films of the year do so at their own pornographic peril. The most recent AVN Awards applauded a handful of landmark features that broke new ground and made bold statements as to the state of porn in this, the year of our lord 2013. Those features?

With 3D cinema all the rage these days, it’s no surprise to see the AVNs offer a new category specifically to features that break down the limitations of previous filmmaking formats. This year, Jailhouse Heat 3D from Digital Playground took home the trophy for its incredibly potent scenes starring Jenna Haze, Madison Parker, Jayden Jaymes and London Keyes, among others. Directed by Jake Westwood, who used the same camera setups favored by James Cameron for Avatar, Jailhouse Heat 3D packed a hell of a punch and likely converted more home viewers to 3D than Glee 3D.

Jules Jordan and his eponymous company took home a slew of awards in a wide range of categories – Best POV Release for Eye Fucked Them All, Best Star Showcase for Asa Akira to the Limit, Best All-Sex Release for Oil Overload 7, Best Amateur Release for Dare Dorm 9, Best Amateur Series for College Rules, Best Anal Release for Anal Boot Camp, Best Big Bust Series for Boobaholics Anonymous, Best Interracial Release (and Series) for Mandingo Massacre 2, and Best New Series for Ultimate Fuck Toy – making 2013 Jules’s year… well, almost.

The only other studio to have more 2013 AVN success than Jules Jordan’s was Elegant Angel. Sweeping the Best All-Girl, Big Bust, Big Butt, and Ethnic Release both Black and Latin, as well as MILF/Cougar Release, Orgy/Gangbang Release, Wall-to-Wall Release, Young Girl Release and the awards for Best Series in Oral, Ethnic, Big Butt, and Anal categories. The company’s biggest winner, however, scored Best Drama, Director, Cinematography, Actress, Editing, Screenplay, and the highly coveted Movie of the Year. That feature, the most celebrated adult release of the year?
