This year of 2016 has been rife with promising new arrivals to the US porn scene. From the incredible new generation of young black women to the army of self-possessed former webcammers confidently making a go of pro hardcore to women that went from nobodies to superstars to retirees in the space of ten months, there has been an abundance of standout performances and breathtaking debuts to brighten up your screen, but one performer in particular caught Mr. Pink’s attention with a series of blazing, massively enthusiastic scenes for every studio from Brazzers to Vixen to Ashley Fires’s under-the-radar fetish efforts. This is the year in Anya Olsen.
Many young starlets new to the game take one of two routes: the virginal ‘teen’ working her way up to more intense sex or the born whore out to prove she’s the next Sasha Grey. Anya Olsen managed to blend both performance styles and career approaches to devastating effect. Equally at home shooting POV scenes (like those for Amateur Allure and its sister site Swallow Salon), where her icy blue eyes and wide smile make her to-camera dirty talk even hotter as she is bringing a more subtle heat to the smooth erotic hardcore of Colette and X-Art, where she featured in group scenes alongside Chloe Couture, Bae Wolf, Caprice, and Joseline Kelly, it seemed Olsen had a unique gift for reading a scene and perfectly conveying its intended mood. Hell, she even tore it up with Bryan Gozzling for Hookup Hotshot, an achievement some modest newcomers have proven ill equipped for.
If there’s one director that really made excellent use of Olsen’s particular attributes and skill set it’s Greg Lansky, who, in a staggering run of scenes for his Blacked, Tushy, and Vixen websites, introduced us to her appreciation for slow, sensual assfucking and sharing herself with multiple men and multiple women. February saw the blue-eyed fox at Tushy, inviting Markus Dupree into her rear passage, peeling off vivid blue lingerie to conquer his resistance. Lansky’s latest endeavor, Vixen, didn’t take long to feature Ms. Olsen, bringing her in to receive another anal visitation from Christian Clay, a deviant sugar daddy introduced to her by a girlfriend.
In a recent AVN profile, Olsen explained that she got her start in adult when two patrons at the Boston establishment where she tended bar were Ashley Fires and her husband, who soon introduced themselves and their careers. Within days, Olsen was booked on an LA-bound flight by Fires’s brother-in-law and was on set for ATK and FTV Girls and on her way to porno stardom. Today, it seems there’s no limit to what onscreen magic Olsen can produce. It’s especially encouraging to find that Lansky feels similarly, telling AVN “In just a short amount of time her incredible talent has made her one of the most popular models with our large fan base. Anya is committed, genuine, and delivers incredible performances.” Her style and beauty, he adds, “is in total resonance” with Blacked, Tushy, and Vixen (and, it appears, with her audience.)
