Why Cam-Site Profile Counts Aren’t Counts of People

I’ve been doing some freelance work on LoopCams, a live cam aggregator that tracks 20 platforms, so I spend a lot of time looking at cam site listings. One thing keeps coming up: the same performer often has profiles on several sites.

So I checked how common that is. Here is what our data shows for the seven days up to November 4, 2026. It comes from the platforms’ public listings and affiliate feeds, and it’s an estimate, not a census.

About 29% of profiles had a match on another site

About 328,000 profiles showed up in the live listings we track that week. About 96,000 of them (29%) were linked to at least one profile on another site. Together they form about 38,000 groups, each one likely to be a single performer or act.

Removing the extras would take about 58,000 profiles, or 18%, off the total. That still wouldn’t give you a count of people. We miss some matches, some of our matches will be wrong, and one profile can be a couple or a group.

Among the linked groups, 67% span two platforms, 21% span three and 12% span four or more.

Chaturbate and Stripchat overlap the most

About 27,000 groups, or 71% of the total, include a profile on both Chaturbate and Stripchat. The next most common pair, CamSoda and Stripchat, is about 5,400. That doesn’t mean those performers are live on both sites at the same time, only that they have a profile on each.

The share of profiles with a match elsewhere varies by site:

  • CamSoda: 56%
  • BongaCams: 40%
  • Streamate: 40%
  • Chaturbate: 29%
  • Stripchat: 28%
  • CAM4: 13%

These percentages describe the profiles we saw, not each site’s full roster. Coverage differs between feeds. Our CAM4 feed, for example, only returns the top profiles by viewers, so many smaller ones never reach us. A low number can simply mean we missed matches.

Colombia is far more common among linked profiles

Among linked profiles that list a country, 69% list Colombia. Among all other profiles that list one, it’s 22%. Countries are whatever the profile says, and many profiles don’t list one, so this tells you about labels and not about where anyone actually lives.

Viewer counts can differ a lot between sites

For 28,633 linked groups, we compared the highest viewer count we recorded on each site between September 24 and November 4. We only included groups with a top peak of at least 20 viewers and a second-highest peak above zero, on sites that report viewers.

The median ratio between the highest and second-highest peak was 2.2 to 1. About 22% of groups had a ratio of at least 5 to 1, and about 11% at least 10 to 1.

Chaturbate had the highest peak most often (48% of these groups), followed by Stripchat (20%), CamSoda (18%) and BongaCams (11%). This isn’t a ranking of the sites. It depends on which sites each performer uses and how often we saw each profile. These peaks may have happened on different days, they aren’t typical audiences, and platforms may count viewers differently.

How the matching works

We link profiles using several signals, such as similar usernames and broadcast schedules that line up over time. Not every match uses every signal. Linked pairs are chained into groups, so if A matches B and B matches C, all three end up together, and one bad link can merge two different people. We haven’t measured our overall error rate, so please treat all of these figures as estimates.

What this means if you’re watching

If a performer links to their other profiles, it can be worth comparing them. The room, the prices, the rules and what’s free can all differ between sites. A bigger room doesn’t guarantee a better show, and a quieter one doesn’t guarantee more attention. Trust the links a performer shares over any automated match, including ours.

At LoopCams we use these matches to try to show one card per performer in our swipe feed, and they can be wrong. If you want broader numbers, we keep live cam statistics and a map of profiles by listed country.
