Christian XXX’s Transgressive Porn

christian xxxScour the comments section of any popular video site, concentrating your reading on movies and scenes starring the heavy-set, hairless, and smirking Christian XXX and you’ll find numerous viewers lamenting the man’s work and, sometimes, his very existence in the adult industry. It often seems like there’s no other male pornstar who raises the ire of porn lovers than the man formerly known as Maxx Diesel. Now, as Mr. XXX launches his very own transsexual hardcore site, Pure TS, we take a look at one of porn’s most devoted and inspired (yet oddly ridiculed) men.

Starting out in adult entertainment after a stint as a bouncer in Las Vegas, Christian found his entry point through director Chi Chi LaRue, who suggested performing in gay instead of straight productions, citing the higher pay. Joining Falcon Studios and shooting as Maxx Diesel, our guy soon became a popular performer and began to branch out into hetero work. Taken under Kink.com’s expansive black wing, Christian expanded his repertoire by letting strap-on-equipped women penetrate him and by shooting with the growing stable of Kink’s transsexual stars. Clearly, this flirtation with non-hetero sex and non-cis performers irritated some less open-minded (or perhaps repressed) – hence the oft-bandied insults the “haters” toss in his direction.

Christian’s latest venture should be heralded as a significant moment in mainstream porn, what with his recent Kink and Evil Angel successes increasing his popularity in the straight world and urging those viewers to expand their horizons, homo-reluctance be damned! Pure-TS takes viewers on a journey into transsexual hardcore guided by a veteran adult performer with plenty of straight work under his belt – a rarity in the usually isolated TS porn world.

“I wanted to create a site that would be something I’d enjoy visiting as a consumer,” Christian announced in the Pure-TS press release upon the site’s launch. “It had to be user friendly, intuitive, and feature top talent. That’s what Pure-TS is.” The site already boasts a strong initial offering featuring such award-winning trans-performers as AVN’s Transsexual Performer of the Year Venus Lux, Sarina Valentina, Robbi Racks, Mara Nova, and Kylie Maria, each of whom acts as versatile tops/bottoms for the equally adaptable Christian. Membership costs $24.99-a-month.

As transsexual people, performers or otherwise, see greater acceptance from the porn industry and Western society as a whole, it’s likely that Christian XXX is on the cutting edge of a thrilling new trend, hopefully one that brings real, substantial change to the attitudes that have previously relegated trans-performers to low-earning adult jobs often shot in unsafe or exploitative conditions, and cast aside from other adult performers.

Kinky Vacation Destinations

Kink BnB

Finding accommodations when traveling can be a drag, especially when you’re restricted to the usual barrage of run-down hotel and motel chains. From stained bed clothes and unhelpful staff to bed bug infestations and volatile air conditioning units, many such establishments leave you little choice but to stay at home and pine for adventure. If you’re planning on indulging in a little (or a lot of) sexual activity during your trip, it’s even worse. Imagine inviting the perfect third component of a long-desired out-of-town threesome back to your room only to find the guests next door have fouled up the place with soggy-pizza-stench and a booming radio broadcast! The answer was thought to have arrived with popular home-sharing site AirBnB, but with that site removing listings containing photos of one would-be host’s bondage dungeon. To handle this issue, and to offer sex tourists more accommodating accommodations, KinkBnB will be launched on May 1st.

Although it currently lists just five properties, KinkBnB caters to adventurous travelers with flamboyant tastes. From an Inland Empire dungeon filled with antique couches, a wardrobe room to an artist’s loft termed a “suspension lover’s delight,” KinkBnB’s currently listed properties aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and well-equipped playhouse for the carnally-minded. Ranging in price from $205 to $650, the apartments, cabins, and houses are also priced to suit most budgets.

It’ll be very interesting to see how KinkBnB progresses and if authorities attempt to clamp down on its operations as they have AirBnB’s in San Francisco. Something – the lack of listings? the risque service that can’t be replaced by a more standard commercial endeavor? – tells me that’s pretty unlikely, though.

The Sadist is Present

Top Grl

There are porn parodies and then there are porn movies that use existing cultural artifacts to create their own take on a popular subject. Most porn parodies use television or movies or comic books or public sex scandals as the basis of their hardcore, but Intersec Interactive has significantly different tastes than most pornography studios and has therefore opted to tackle a rather unusual subject for one of Top Grl’s challenging femdom sessions: Serbian artist Marina Abramović’s landmark 736-hour-and-30-minute performance piece, The Artist is Present.

thesadistispresent

Devised and performed by Abramović for MOMA’s 2010 retrospective of her work, The Artist is Present saw a still and silent Abramović seated before gallery patrons, many of whom were moved to tears by nothing but the artist’s returned gaze. This might seem an odd sort of artwork to influence porn production, but Intersec Interactive is an odd sort of company. One of Kink.com’s few genuine competitors, Intersec has unleashed via Top Grl a scene entitled The Sadist is Present that, although using an unchanging endurance performance piece as its inspiration, thankfully offers a bit more activity than Abramović’s now legendary work.

Mona Wales has taken a seat, naked except for tall heels, when in walks Bonnie Day. Stunned, Bonnie receives her command: Make yourself comfortable. Ordered to strip in front of the embodiment of the perfect female figure, Bonnie follows each subsequent instruction to the letter, whether it’s kneeling in a pile of stiff rice grains, flogging herself with a cat o’ nine tails, and even peeling an onion only to use it as a masturbatory device.

This is some weird shit, y’all, and it’s highly entertaining even though the rest of the scene takes place not in a gallery space but in a fairly typical bondage rack in some dank basement cum dungeon somewhere. More sadistic physical abuse is on the cards, only it uses the same tropes and tools found in most hardcore BDSM work. Clearly, then, art and porn are becoming increasingly intertwined (as also evidenced by the rise of publicly advertised and accessible erotic art shows and film festivals) but still have some way to go. For all the efforts of Mona Wales, Bonnie Day, and the Top Grl and Intersec teams, they still fall short of the epic commitment required by Abramović. But, hey, it’s a swell start!

The New Face of Kink

Kink.comA new post-breakup haircut or wardrobe can bring you back from the brink of obsession and depression, enlivening your existence with the hope of prosperity, romantic or otherwise. In short: everyone needs a new look now and again. Kink.com, the most notorious adult website operating on U.S. soil, is no different. Having tackled most every conceivable (legal) fetish, kink, and sexually adventurous act, the San Francisco-based studio has obviously decided a new look is the best way to celebrate its continued success. Inviting a select group of loyal members to check out the new online digs, Kink has opened the doors to a beta version of its new website. Always interested in where Kink is headed, I stepped behind the red velvet rope and took a look-see for myself.

Quite clearly designed with tablet and smart-phone use in mind, Kink has dispensed with the majority of the text that once greeted members, instead thrusting them into an image-based update listing that’s more vibrant and eye-catching than ever. Hovering your cursor over each update (in the form of thumbnail images) strangely doesn’t bring any more information to light; for that you’ll have to make a selection and check out the viewing page. Video streams and download options are all easily accessible and see the same dedication to visual quality that has made Kink the Internet’s go-to BDSM dungeon. If you select a video stream other than that automatically presented on the page, it’ll open not in that same window but in a new tab.

Performers could still be given more info-rich profiles and there’s plenty of room for keyword tags (in a cloud?) and other one-touch navigation tools, but Kink’s certainly onto a good thing as far as clarity and ease-of-use is concerned. Tablet users will love the larger, more vivid thumbnails and the simple menu sidebar, but there’s still some changes to be made. Kink knows this, too, which is why the design is still in beta mode; they’re working out the, uh, kinks. If you’d like to help guide porn’s boldest and baddest fetish workers towards a brilliant new look and greater functionality for your preferred device, you know where to go to sign up, and start making the most of being a Kink.com member at the dawn of 2015.
