Oriental Ecstasy in the Third Dimension

Years ago, back when VHS still reigned supreme, I manned the counter and cleaned the shelves of a video rental store. Wandering into the adult section, as I was wont to do on a daily basis, I stumbled upon an erotic film from Hong Kong entitled Sex & Zen II. Although I was never game enough it myself, the title stuck with me for years. Imagine my surprise then, when a 3D sequel to what I thought was an obscure Oriental skin flick became the highest grossing Category III (18 years and over) film in Hong Kong’s history, in addition to beating the tied record held by Avatar and Titanic for highest opening gross, raking in HK$2.79 million over James Cameron’s dual takes of HK$2.5.

August 12th finally saw the US release of 3D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy and, although it’s only playing in one theater in the entire state of California – ironically not even in “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, Hollywood – the latest installment of the Sex & Zen series is attracting movie goers willing to shed their inhibitions, pay a premium price for 3D glasses, and enjoy a rather corny and cliche adaptation of the ancient Chinese equivalent of the Karma Sutra, The Carnal Prayer Mat.

What about American productions, though? When will we see a theatrical release of an erotic film, either softcore or hardcore, shot in three dimensions on our own shores? Until that eventually, inevitably comes to pass we’ll have to content ourselves with Gianna Michaels nude parasailing in the 2010 monster flick, Piranha 3D.

Faceless, Namelss, Shameless

No Faces Reality Kings Reality Kings – the network that brought you MILF Hunter, Round and Brown, and Big Naturals – comes a unique and intriguing take on the reality-porn staple sub-genre most folks identify as ‘amateur GFs sextapes’. Called No Faces, this very new and very small section of Reality Kings isn’t yet listed on the network tour and join pages and can only be found inside the members area. “What’s the deal,” I hear you wondering. Well, No Faces claims to give genuine amateurs the chance to shoot their own porn, show it to the world, and still run for elected office if they so choose thanks to craftily retaining their anonymity. How can this be? Are we really expected to beat off to faceless women? Who knows, perhaps this will work out beautifully in action, if not theory. Are these girls with obscured faces – t-shirts, camera angles, and crafty editing keep the identities of the performers a secret – actually genuine amateurs who heeded RK’s call for submissions or are they pornstars branching out into avant-garde art-porn or merely making a few extra bucks on a site they otherwise wouldn’t be fit for?

Judging from these comments found on No Face’s two existing scenes, the jury’s still out on this latest RK effort.

Asa Akira’s Analsex August

Everyone’s favorite Asian-American multi-AVN winner, Asa Akira, posted on her Twitter page at the beginning of the month that simply said “It’s here! It’s here! Analsex August. Her “Analsex August” simply must be a month-long shoot for EA and we can expect to see her pop both her double-vaginal and double-anal cherries in the highly anticipated Asa Akira is Insatiable 2.

Flying the Virgin Skies

I’m sure plenty of us have found ourselves sitting at the gate, laptop humming away, hoping the latest Bang Bros scene will hurrythefuckup and finish downloading before our boarding group is called, just to make a red eye flight that little bit more tolerable with a 3,000 foot bout of ‘bating. Sure, you could occupy the lavatory accompanied by your iPad, but prepare for looks of suspicion and derision upon exiting.
